Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

Location: Los Angeles, CA

The $315M LA Memorial Coliseum project was completed at the end of 2019 and restored the 96-year-old stadium to its former glory, as well as modernize the facility. The historic stadium opened in 1923 and is home to the USC Trojans and has served as a host venue for the 1932 and 184 Summer Olympics; it will once again host the Summer Olympics in the upcoming 2028 games. The renovation will provide seats for 77,500 including luxury boxes and club suites. To date, the project has logged more than 200,000 labor hours with 30% of the work performed by local craft workers. The field has been renamed United Airlines Field at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. In addition to the new name, the project included replacing all of the seats, new suites and concession stands, upgraded entryways and video screens, replacing electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems and installing new field and stadium lighting.

Cascade Solar Park

Location: Joshua Tree, CA

Rosendin provided complete engineering, procurement and construction services for the installation of an electric, solar energy system on 150 acres at the Cascade Solar Project located in Joshua Tree, CA. Before construction, tortoise fencing was installed around the site to protect the indigenous Desert Tortoise, and other wildlife and the project was required to employ archaeologists and geologists on-site, at all times, to protect the historical significance of this property to Native Americans. The Arizona Desert Monsoon with rain, wind, and dust added to the challenges that had to be overcome by Rosendin to deliver this project in 66 working days; on time and under budget.

Wilshire Grand Center

Location: Los Angeles , CA

The Wilshire Grand Center is the star of the Los Angeles skyline. As the tallest building west of the Mississippi, the Center stands at 1,100 feet, 73 stories, with a crown and “spine” that lights up the night with LED lights, neon colors, and advertisements. With over two million square feet of space, the Center is home to the Intercontinental Downtown Los Angeles hotel, office space, event venues, retail space, and an observatory. Due to the city’s high rate of earthquakes and resulting rigorous engineering standards, building a project of this type in Los Angeles is difficult and expensive. Rosendin is proud to have been a key stakeholder in this historic, award-winning, design-build structure. We performed all engineering and design for the electrical systems, Telecom-IT systems, Public Safety DAS (Distributed Antenna System), Lightning Protection Systems, and all Audio/Visual systems for this project, which translates to over 340,000 labor hours and over 1,045 miles of conduit, cables, and wires.

At Rosendin, I am able to learn and grow both personally and professionally. Employees on both the field and office side have helped me learn so much about electrical construction. The time people have taken out of their schedules to help me be successful has made me feel valued as both an employee and as an individual. As employee-owners, the people take more ownership of their careers and the success of the organization. There is a sense of comradery that we are all in this together. Success is not just about the individual, it is about the success of all employees as well as the organization.

I had the opportunity to work with several other contractors during my college internships, and I value each one of those experiences. The last internship I did was with Rosendin, and I immediately knew that this was going to be where I was going to spend my career. The way Rosendin conducts business and invests in its employees is what sets us apart from other contractors. There are a certain drive and motivation at Rosendin that can be contagious where people are motivated to succeed and constantly improve. At my age, that is the most important thing to me – being constantly motivated and moving forward.

Starting in high school I was working IT Helpdesk and in college, I worked both in IT as well as construction. After graduating I took a job as a Project Engineer for a large General Contractor. In my time working there they implemented a new ERP system and I joined that team combining my knowledge of IT and Construction. I’ve stayed in IT ever since and in 2019 became Rosendin’s CIO.

Working at Rosendin has been a great learning experience. I love working with the people, Rosendin cares, safety is a virtue, and at Rosendin you’re part of a family. As an employee-owned company, we have a bigger investment in the success of the company, it’s personal. Pride and responsibility come with being an employee-owner.

The thing I absolutely love about Rosendin is that they care about their people. This was shown to me during my first summer internship and is still very evident as I go through my second-year internship. This experience with Rosendin has been amazing because it immediately immersed me in the electrical construction industry. It has been a pleasure to work alongside the team at Kaiser Permanente in Woodbridge, VA as they have provided me with knowledge that I will carry with me as I progress with this amazing company. I am truly grateful that I could have this experience and I am excited to continue my journey with Rosendin Electric.
