Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

Location: Los Angeles, CA

The $315M LA Memorial Coliseum project was completed at the end of 2019 and restored the 96-year-old stadium to its former glory, as well as modernize the facility. The historic stadium opened in 1923 and is home to the USC Trojans and has served as a host venue for the 1932 and 184 Summer Olympics; it will once again host the Summer Olympics in the upcoming 2028 games. The renovation will provide seats for 77,500 including luxury boxes and club suites. To date, the project has logged more than 200,000 labor hours with 30% of the work performed by local craft workers. The field has been renamed United Airlines Field at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. In addition to the new name, the project included replacing all of the seats, new suites and concession stands, upgraded entryways and video screens, replacing electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems and installing new field and stadium lighting.

Cascade Solar Park

Location: Joshua Tree, CA

Rosendin provided complete engineering, procurement and construction services for the installation of an electric, solar energy system on 150 acres at the Cascade Solar Project located in Joshua Tree, CA. Before construction, tortoise fencing was installed around the site to protect the indigenous Desert Tortoise, and other wildlife and the project was required to employ archaeologists and geologists on-site, at all times, to protect the historical significance of this property to Native Americans. The Arizona Desert Monsoon with rain, wind, and dust added to the challenges that had to be overcome by Rosendin to deliver this project in 66 working days; on time and under budget.

Wilshire Grand Center

Location: Los Angeles , CA

The Wilshire Grand Center is the star of the Los Angeles skyline. As the tallest building west of the Mississippi, the Center stands at 1,100 feet, 73 stories, with a crown and “spine” that lights up the night with LED lights, neon colors, and advertisements. With over two million square feet of space, the Center is home to the Intercontinental Downtown Los Angeles hotel, office space, event venues, retail space, and an observatory. Due to the city’s high rate of earthquakes and resulting rigorous engineering standards, building a project of this type in Los Angeles is difficult and expensive. Rosendin is proud to have been a key stakeholder in this historic, award-winning, design-build structure. We performed all engineering and design for the electrical systems, Telecom-IT systems, Public Safety DAS (Distributed Antenna System), Lightning Protection Systems, and all Audio/Visual systems for this project, which translates to over 340,000 labor hours and over 1,045 miles of conduit, cables, and wires.

@mentions of Rosendin

    As a safety professional, I lead by example. On a project site, I must ‘show up’ in my daily interactions. I need to be concise and confident in my responses and I must remain cool in hot situations. At the end of the day, I only have myself to reflect on what I did or did not do.

    I have worked for Rosendin in Texas and Oregon and we have the best people and culture in the industry, hands down. The best part is the people that I get to work with every day. Relocating to Oregon was a big move for myself and my family, but the way the team welcomed us and into the community was above and beyond what was expected. Being an employee-owner shows in the pride and quality that our people bring every day.

    The culture at Rosendin makes you feel like a family. The work-life balance is perfect here. We work hard, but there is plenty of play to keep an even balance. I love that Rosendin stands strong by our Core Values. Being an ESOP company, each employee understands that they have a job, and to do this job correctly, it needs to include our Core Values. Everyone holds everyone accountable because we all love seeing our ESOP grow! Everything I do daily, I think about how it affects our ESOP. Being an employee-owner helps drive me to better Rosendin as a whole by thinking outside the box and getting creative to stay ahead of the competition.

    From my first day with Rosendin, I was taken by the sense of family and the genuine care the Leadership showed for their people. The turning point for me was when I was asked to teach a class on T&M billings. That moment helped me see that I could shape the future of Rosendin, make it better. From then on, I joined every initiative group I could, went through leadership classes, and taught groups anything that I was qualified to teach. My advice to the newer folks is to get involved! It may be uncomfortable and push your limits, but the experience will make you better, you will make Rosendin better, and the peek behind the curtain is beautiful!

    Working in an industry that is primarily filled with men has given me the extra drive and motivation to take on a leadership role in the industry. My position has helped me learn how to work with different talents and come together as a team to resolve any issues. I encourage all women to tackle any fears they have entering the construction industry as it has opened up so many doors for me.
