Working at Rosendin has been a great learning experience. I love working with the people, Rosendin cares, safety is a virtue, and at Rosendin you’re part of a family. As an employee-owned company, we have a bigger investment in the success of the company, it’s personal. Pride and responsibility come with being an employee-owner.

I started in construction as a summer help with the Union. They had me moving pipe, inventorying things, all the grunt work that they had out there. The transition from working in the field to an intern in the office was happening while I was in the field. My plan from the beginning was to use that experience and knowledge and take that next step into actually interning and then make it my full-time job. When I knew I wanted to work full-time with Rosendin was a couple of weeks into the internship. I really liked how the company was run and I was getting a lot of guidance from people that I worked with. As an intern, the first task I had was a feeder log. It was pretty intensive and it felt like I was actually contributing to something that they used going forward in the project. The fact that they, while checking me, allowed me to do something important and integral to what we were doing out there sparked my interest.

Before I started full-time with Rosendin, I interned for two years. My internship helped me to get hands-on experience with writing RFIs, doing submittals, and reading drawings and documentation that we didn’t necessarily cover in class. I decided to stay with Rosendin because I felt like everyone was really trying to help me do better. I have a mentor, and I have someone that gives me goals and expectations to get to the next step.

The construction industry is one of the most exciting careers to be in. I’ve had great experiences in the office and on job sites and have been trained and mentored by the best in their field. It’s extremely gratifying when you work with a great team who have the same mission to set out and build great things.

I have worked for Rosendin in Texas and Oregon and we have the best people and culture in the industry, hands down. The best part is the people that I get to work with every day. Relocating to Oregon was a big move for myself and my family, but the way the team welcomed us and into the community was above and beyond what was expected. Being an employee-owner shows in the pride and quality that our people bring every day.
