Sacramento International Airport Terminal B Landside

Project Summary

The Sacramento International Airport Terminal B project is an award-winning, LEED-certified Silver project that is the centerpiece of the Sacramento Airport. The terminal is designed to make the landside facility (ticketing, baggage claim, baggage make-up,) user-friendly and intuitive as well as accommodate the airports projected long-term growth well beyond 2050. The billion-dollar renovation included demolition of the existing terminal with new construction of the 4-story, 433,330 square feet building that is now in use. The terminal consists of an Automated People Mover and pedestrian bridges connecting the terminal to adjacent parking to make navigation and wayfinding easier for travelers. Additional key elements of the project include a 19-gate concourse, check-in counters, baggage handling system, security checkpoints, complex mechanical and electrical systems, and an $8 million Art program.
