Pflugerville, TX – Rosendin, the largest employee-owned electrical contracting company in the U.S., is proud to be recognized for its work renovating the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) in Texas. The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) awarded Rosendin the prestigious NECA 2020 Project Excellence Award in Transportation/Infrastructure for the beautiful transformation of the Delta Sky Club.

Rosendin’s team worked with Holder Construction Company to build Delta Airlines’ new 9,803 sq. ft., 2-story Delta Sky Club lounge on the mezzanine level of the new nine-gate expansion of the Barbara Jordan Terminal at ABIA. Rosendin performed electrical and communication pathways on the unique circular lounge that features indoor/outdoor seating, food service/bar, dramatic lighting features, and numerous seating areas with access to power outlets and Wi-Fi.

“We are thankful to NECA for honoring Rosendin’s team and recognizing the challenges of this complex project, which was completed while the airport was operating at a high capacity, well before the coronavirus reduced travel,” said Keith Douglas, Rosendin’s COO.

“This award belongs to our team for making safety a priority while still meeting all project expectations despite challenges such as working above active gates in the terminal, navigating a complex electrical room placement, and installing special lighting systems.”

Despite obstacles, Rosendin exceeded expectations and stayed on time and on budget by adhering to strict safety policies, substantial prefabricated assemblies, and an engaged Building Information Modeling (BIM) team.

Rosendin also thanks its partners on this project for their success: CBRE Heery Int’l of Atlanta, Holder Construction, CenTx Soff-Cut Kings, Johnson Controls Fire Protection, Lone Star Firestop, and Bonded Lightning Protection.

For more than 100 years, Rosendin has created a welcoming work environment focused on building people and communities, guided by its core values of “We Care. We Share. We Listen. We Innovate. We Excel.” To ensure every employee has an opportunity to reach their full potential, Rosendin has a zero tolerance policy for racism or discrimination of any kind and is a proud sponsor of the Associated General Contractor’s Culture of CARE initiative. Rosendin also works closely with NECA and the Int’l Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) to make diversity and inclusion a priority.
