Big Sky North Substation

Project Summary

Big Sky North Substation is owned and operated by Sustainable Power Group (Power), and is the first to tie into the Big Sky Substation that feeds into the Southern California Edison (SCE) grid. The substation was designed by Rosendin’s Renewable Energy Group to provide 660 Mega Watts of clean solar renewable energy to the original Big Sky Substation. Rosendin was responsible for all design, procurement, and installation for this project, and self-performed all civil, concrete foundations, steel installation, and electrical connections inside the substation. This substation accommodates a 105MW solar resource, with the intent to expand significantly with additional solar generation sites to a total of 990 Mega Watts of solar power added to the grid.
