El Campo, TX (June 30, 2021) – Renewable energy workers from the Aktina Solar Facility, the largest solar facility in Texas, gave back to the community during Rosendin Renewable Energy Group’s first annual beach cleanup day, held June 27 at Matagorda Beach. More than two dozen Rosendin employees and family members collected enough trash and debris to fill 30 large trash bags, as well as discarded tires and pieces of foam dock wreckage.
Rosendin’s day of service focused on the area around Cemetery Road, a main pipeline to the local fishing hole known for its abundance of redfish, sea trout, sole, blue crab, and shrimp. The area has been compromised with litter and floating debris in the waterways. The community service project is part of Rosendin’s ongoing efforts to give back to the communities it serves across the United States.
“Making a difference in the communities where we work and live is a priority at Rosendin, and we are pleased we could have an impact on this beautiful region of southeast Texas,” Jim Crisafulli, Division Manager at Rosendin Renewable Energy Group. “This is a great group of volunteers, and it makes us a stronger team to be able to work together and give back to our community.”
Rosendin is constructing the Aktina Renewable Power Project with Toyko Gas America, Ltd. in nearby El Campo, Texas. The solar facility project includes 1.4 million solar modules across 4,000 acres in Wharton County, located outside of the Houston Metro area. When completed, Aktina will provide capacity to generate 500MWac/631MWdc of renewable energy, enough to power 100,000 homes. To construct the Aktina facility, Rosendin is working with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) to develop a diverse workforce. At one point, 30% of people on the job site were women, which significantly surpasses industry averages.
Rosendin has one of the fastest-growing renewable energy groups in the country that is building a robust workforce through active recruitment of experienced engineers, estimators, and project managers. An employee-owned company, Rosendin offers a sustainable and productive career path for industry professionals who want to make a difference. As an innovative company dedicated to inclusivity and equity, Rosendin offers a wide range of opportunities for growth potential to qualified professionals.
