Gallatin, TN (May 4, 2023) – Electrical contractor, Rosendin, partnered with the Gallatin Data Center and DPR Construction to champion a new workforce development program in Tennessee called Advancing Careers in Trades. The 8-week paid training program will provide an introduction to careers in the construction industry, starting with a special signing ceremony.
“With a single moment, I changed the course of my life for the better,”
said Kari Sears, one of three participants accepted into the program to train with Rosendin.
Rosendin also hired Connor Castillo and Jared Garrison through the Advancing Careers in Trades program, which started in April. They will join all the participants in four weeks of classroom instruction on the fundamentals of construction occupations and four weeks of field training at Gallatin Data Center.
“Construction is one of the most widely misunderstood industries, but there are limitless possibilities for anyone who wants to launch a career, whether they prefer to work in an office or start as an apprentice on a jobsite,” said Tullie Louder, Rosendin Division Manager. “We hope this program will help people realize the joy of building our nation’s critical infrastructure that makes it possible for the community to work, play, and be entertained.”
In February, Rosendin worked with partners to host informational sessions at Shalom Zone, American Job Center in Sumner County, and Volunteer State Community College. Participants had just a few short weeks to submit applications, pass interviews, and demonstrate their commitment to learning.
Upon successful completion of the program, Rosendin will offer the participants a full-time career. They also receive a certificate of completion from Volunteer State Community College, a CPR/AED Certificate, an OSHA-10 Certificate, and three credit hours toward a Construction Management Program.
“The construction workforce gained nine new members who are committed to building a sustainable career”Julie Simms, Workforce Development Manager for DPR Construction
