Rosendin, the nation’s largest employee-owned electrical contracting company, announces its newest project built just for kids. Rosendin’s Tempe team partnered with Junior Achievement of Arizona to redesign Rosendin’s booth at JA BizTown® into an interactive storefront that shows students how an electrical company does business within the community.

JA BizTown® is a hands-on program for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders in Arizona that provides a simulated economy to teach students how to manage money, run a business, and explore potential career paths. Students will be assigned to a role before they arrive at BizTown, that role will in turn take the student through an individualized path while learning the intricacies of owning a business.

The 501(c)3 nonprofit expects to have 250 schools from across the state visit throughout the 2022-2023 school year.

“To celebrate our 14th year of working with Junior Achievement, Rosendin is proud to provide a new modern storefront and updated curriculum that demonstrates how we use technology to find and solve today’s complex electrical problems,” said Fred Meeske, Rosendin Vice President of Technology, Analytics and BIM. “Our hope is to introduce students to the joy of building a community and provide a window to the vast opportunities for creativity and problem-solving that are available in the growing construction industry.”

To complete construction on the storefront in time for the start of the school year, Rosendin partnered with experts at SDB Contracting Services, State Tile & Flooring, and Powering Arizona, a collaborative effort of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).

Rosendin has been supporting Junior Achievement and BizTown since 2008 through annual fundraisers, volunteer efforts, and its storefront. Its annual Bowl-A-Thon, held September 16th, recently raised $10,000 for the nonprofit. Dozens of employees at the electrical contractor will also participate in the Junior Achievement Open Golf Tournament to be held on December 9th at the Superstition Mountain Golf Club.
