Through the Arizona Builders Alliance’s annual toy drive, the local construction industry came together to provide a memorable Christmas for hundreds of children in need.

Approximately 150 construction companies, including Rosendin, McCarthy Building Companies, Hensel Phelps, Kitchell, and Sundt, and their employees, donated three 18-foot trailers’ worth of toys and over $40,000 to the 13th Annual ABA Community Service Board’s 2022 Toy Drive, which benefited five nonprofit organizations serving over 2,000 underprivileged children in the Phoenix Metro area.

“We couldn’t be prouder of the support we received in this year’s toy drive” said Erica Lange, Arizona Builders Alliance Vice President, in a statement.

“It was so magical to see the joy that we were able to provide to children across the valley, and we are so grateful that the Arizona construction industry was able to come together for another year to build a spectacular Christmas season for our valley’s children.”

Sunshine Acres Children’s Home, Sunshine Residential Homes, Sequoia Charter School, Agape Adoption Agency of Arizona and Santo Niño Catholic Community were among the benefiting organizations. Arizona’s construction industry collected truckloads of presents and toys for Sunshine Residential Homes in Glendale, Sequoia Charter School in Mesa, Agape Adoption Agency of Arizona in Phoenix, and Santo Niño Catholic Community in Phoenix. These organizations support children who have been separated from their parents, have endured abuse and neglect, or whose families cannot afford to buy Christmas presents.

Children at Sunshine Acres Children’s Home in Mesa also received presents during their annual Christmas party, where each child received toys totaling $125 from their individual wish lists. While celebrating the joy of Christmas, students unwrapped their presents, sang carols, played games, and got to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus.
