The Rosendin Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit incorporated to positively impact communities, build and empower people and inspire innovation, recently hosted a free construction day camp for middle school students in the Anaheim, California region. TRF Camp Build took place on Saturday, June 10, 2023, and was crafted to motivate and empower students to unearth the thrill of hands-on building and gain fresh insight into the building industry.
“We are thrilled with the response to TRF Camp Build, marking our inaugural camp,” expressed Jolsna Thomas, President of The Rosendin Foundation. “Observing the students’ enthusiasm, their fervor for knowledge acquisition, and participation in the activities was indeed heartening.”
“We are immensely proud to inspire the next generation with empowering options for rewarding and transformative career trajectories.”
Conducted at Rosendin’s regional office located at 1730 S Anaheim Way, Anaheim, CA 92805, the complimentary co-ed day camp for current 6th-8th graders imparted practical building experiences and furnished students with the necessary skills to continue building in their future. Under expert supervision, attendees acquired vital building skills, including using power tools safely, building a lamp that they took home, and exploring potential career paths in the growing industrialized construction industry under the guidance of skilled professionals.
“It was immensely gratifying to witness the students’ minds illuminate at each lesson.” conveyed Ray Nelson, TRF Camp Build Anaheim Lead/Fundraising Chair. “When a child is handed a power, manual, or technology tool, their perspective shifts. We are grateful to our sponsors, Rosendin, MPS, guest speaker Robert Corona from the IBEW, and our dedicated volunteers that made this possible. Their commitment enabled The Rosendin Foundation to positively impact a child’s life through this camp”.
TRF Camp Build offered students a secure environment to investigate varied career paths in industrialized construction and acquire hands-on learning experience. The nonprofit sponsored this event and four others nationwide, thanks to generous sponsors and in-kind donations, including Diamond-level sponsorship from sister companies Rosendin and MPS, Platinum sponsor United Rentals, and Silver sponsor Southwire. In-kind donors include Milwaukee Tools, Stanley Black and Decker, Border States, and Graybar.
