North Concourse

Project was the construction of the North Concourse Terminal at San Jose International Airport. The Terminal project required working in an active airport environment with all of the challenges involving automobile traffic, passenger aircraft, and passengers. The work required the installation of electrical and telecom duct banks, including cabling to support the passenger terminal boarding areas and security systems. Rosendin Electric's work included phasing of the systems to support connection to existing high voltage 15 KV PG&E utilities. This portion of the construction at the Airport was not design-build.

Terminal A Modifications

This phase added additional gates to the existing Terminal A, provided major upgrades to the baggage handling systems, improved flow and capacity to the security entrance points, upgraded the security systems and fire alarm, increased airside vending services, and updated the architectural look and feel.

Terminal B Construction

A new 150,000 square foot terminal was added onto the end of the existing North Concourse terminal which increased the number of gates by 5. The terminal consisted of new security checkpoints, baggage scanning devices, extensive baggage handling installations, TSA-approved security system, fire alarm system, and abundant tele/data infrastructure.

Terminal C Modifications and Demo

This phase modified the existing Terminal C, which was built in 1965. The modifications included the relocation of several airlines so that the northern portion of the terminal could be demolished and allow room for the new Terminal B to be constructed. Also, major upgrades to the tele/data, security, fire alarm and other systems were performed. Finally, the baggage handling "arm" was demolished in order to allow for the roadway improvement.

Roadway Improvement

This phase upgraded the roadways leading to and in front of the terminal complex. Included in this is the addition of bridges which allow for easy access to interim terminals.

Consolidated Rental Car Facility (ConRAC)

The phase constructed a 1.5 million square foot rental car facility to house several well known rental car agencies. The facility not only holds 4,000 cars, it is home to an onsite servicing and fueling wing, known as the Quick Turn Area (QTA). ConRAC also included the largest municipal solar array to date for the City of San Jose.
