The new Terminal 3 was a 2.2 million square foot expansion to the McCarran International Airport. Rosendin Electric's scope of work included all lighting, power, fire alarm, and security associated with this expansion, which included 14 new gates. Rosendin Electric also installed power and controls for a new dedicated baggage handling system.
The central plant included the infrastructure required to distribute normal and emergency power and chilled water to the new 2.2 million square foot airport terminal. The 15,000 square foot central utility plant houses (4) 2000 kW diesel generators with associated paralleling switchgear, 1 – lineup of 15 kV primary metering switchgear, construction of the NV Energy switchyard and transformer area, and (2) lineups of 15 kV distribution switchgear with over 20 medium voltage circuit breakers. The project also included the installation of over 21,500 lineal feet of feeder conduit and over 63,000 lineal feed of feeder wire. The conduit and wire was installed in duct banks totaling over 1,200 lineal feet.
