Rosendin Electric performed this project, which achieved LEED® Gold Certification, as the electrical design-build contractor. The Juvenile Justice Center is a state-of-the-art facility that includes a 360-bed Juvenile Hall with an adjacent Court Facility that houses (5) court rooms and offices for the District Attorney, Public Defender, Behavioral Health Care, Court Clerk, Sheriff, and Probation staff. This is the first and only juvenile justice facility in the U.S. to attain LEED® Gold Certification. The Juvenile Justice Center, which has exceeded California’s Title 24 Energy Efficiency Standards by over 40%, relied on a varied strategy for achieving sustainability that included an 880kW photovoltaic array & bio-diesel excavation and site clearing.
